Tyler woman will celebrate her 100th birthday Saturday

Anna Boyett McCorkle, of Tyler, will celebrate her 100th birthday with a party at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, family members announced.

Mrs. McCorkle was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Hope, Arkansas, and she lived there for 98 years. She moved with her daughter to Tyler, where she has lived the past 2 1/2 years.

Family members said Mrs. McCorkle loves plants and flowers, and has always had something blooming in her yard. She still gets out and works in her flowers.

Mrs. McCorkle was married for 69 years to Johnnie McCorkle, who passed away in 2009. She had two sisters, whom she outlived.

Mrs. McCorkle has two daughters, Polly Langley and husband, Bob, and Peggy Floyd, of Tyler; grandson, Todd Langley, of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Dawne Langley, and great-granddaughter, Kerbie Langley, of Tyler.
