Tyler Civic Chorale will open its season with a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, 230 W. Rusk St.
Titled "Bach, Brahms & Beethoven," the concert will feature Bach Cantata No. 140, German folk songs by Brahms and choruses by Beethoven.
A chamber orchestra will accompany the choir.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased in advance through the chorale's website, tylercivicchorale.org and will be sold at the door.
The chorale is under direction of Artistic & Executive Director Donald Duncan, the director of music ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Tyler. Duncan also serves as organist for Congregation Beth El and president for the East Texas Youth Orchestra. He holds a master's of music degree from the University of Memphis.
Judy Wilkins serves as the rehearsal accompanist.
The chorale also is set to present three other concerts at First Presbyterian Church this season: "Christmas Spectacular" on Dec. 12, "Festival of the Nine Lessons and Carols" on Dec. 20 and "The Great American Songbook" on April 16.
