Kind teenager, 16, needs forever family

John is a quiet, but playful young man. This 16-year-old is well-mannered and gets along with others.

"He's a very loving child who expresses affection and is very polite," said Justin Northcutt, Case Manager from Azleway Boys Ranch.

John says he's described as nice and kind. He makes friends easily and likes to make people laugh. "He can be serious, but he just throws comments out there that strike you funny," said Northcutt.

His favorite things are Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards and comic books. He also likes playing video games and is up on all the latest gaming system details. He enjoys being creative.

"I like Transformers. I want to collect them, but there is such an urge to take it out of the packet and transform it and see how it works," said John. "I also love marbles."

This 11th-grader does well in school, but needs a little extra help with reading and math. "John is a very inquisitive child and likes to learn."

He also likes watching sports. "Rangers are my favorite team."

John participates in school clubs and choir, as well as attends his church youth group and camp. He likes staying active.

"If I'm alone somewhere and there is nothing to do, I'm going to find something to do," he said.

Unfortunately John often feels alone after spending a long time in foster care. I asked him if adoption is something he wants. He responded, "Yes ma'am, cause I'll have a better home."

He's open to what lies ahead as long as it means plenty of love, encouragement and a safe home. "I just want a family!"

Northcutt added, "He's a very interesting kid and would be a great addition to someone's home."
