Texas Baptist Men will lead the two-day training sessions Friday and Saturday in the Family Life Center. Deadline for registration has passed.

Annual Home Run 5k

Proverbs 19:17 Ministries will host the 8th Annual Home Run 5k on Saturday at The Cannery in Lindale. Proceeds from the annual event help support families in need by providing safe, affordable housing.

The recipients of the 2019 home build will be announced at the conclusion of the race and will be joined by other families who have received homes and paid it forward.

It is the mission of Proverbs 19:17 Ministries to offer a hand up, rather than a hand out to families in the community by providing affordable housing to those who would not have the means to improve their current living conditions.

The 2019 Home Run 5k is $25 per runner, $10 for the Kid’s Fun Run and $25 Virtual Runner for those that want to be there in spirit.

The races begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K start, followed by the kids fun run at 9:15 a.m. The announcement of the 2019 home recipients will be at 9:30 a.m. at The Cannery, 205 E. North St., Lindale.

Participants may register online at http://proverbs1917ministries.org/events or in person Thursday and Friday at Anytime Fitness, 618 N. Main St. in Lindale.
