Warmth is not a guarantee especially for people struggling to make ends meet. That's why once again East Texas Refrigeration and The Salva-tion Army are partnering for their annual Giv-ing the Gift of Warmth project.
The two entities are asking Tyler residents to donate 500 new blankets by Monday for community members in need.
New blankets can be dropped off at East Texas Refrigeration, 4700 Old Troup Highway, in Tyler from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
They also can be given to any East Texas Refrigeration technician when a company van is spotted in the community, according to a program news release.
Another option is to drop off blankets at The Salvation Army's Building Three, 633 N. Broadway Ave., in Tyler, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Donors should mention that their blanket is for East Texas Refrig-eration's Gift of Warmth project. The Salvation Army will distribute all the new blankets, according to the news release.
Those people who can't drop off a new blanket can contribute online through an electronic donation.
Donors can give online by visiting etrtyler.com and clicking on the "Giving the Gift of Warmth" icon.
Donors should write "Giving the Gift of Warmth" in the Specific Use section on the donation page. For every $15 donated, one new blanket will be purchased for an East Texas resident in need.
