Young talent will be featured in the Junior Showcase competition on Jan 3.

The festival staff will select finalists in two age groups from the video entries. A panel of professional musicians will select the winners based on their live performances on stage.

The winners in each age category will be recognized and perform with professional artists, the announcement said.

Organizers are promoting the festival as a celebration of the “deep heritage of the blues which stretches across all of the Piney Woods region of the South.”

The lineup, represents “the next generation of the blues," according to its website.

The Riverside Blues Band with Carter Wilkinson, the winner of the Junior Showcase last year, is among the acts booked for the festival.
