Festivals in the Tyler area this weekend offer a variety of experiences.

The Piney Woods Wine Festival, Tyler Celtic Festival and Junebug Summer Fair have very different things to offer depending on your sense of fun.

Piney Woods Wine Festival 

The wineries on the Piney Woods Wine Trail will be offering samples at the Piney Woods Wine Festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, at Picker's Pavilion, 205 E. North St., Lindale.

The event also will feature live music, food and crafts vendors.  

Admission is free. It will cost $10 to gain access to the wine sampling area and more money to sample and buy wine, organizers said. 

Tyler Celtic Festival

The Tyler Celtic Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 15926 Highway 64 East, near Chapel Hill High School. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. on both days.

The festival will include competitions, activities, demonstrations, entertainment and vendors that celebrate Celtic culture.

Junebug Summer Fair 

The annual Junebug Summer Fair takes place Saturday and Sunday in the park at The Forge in Ben Wheeler. 

Attractions will include art demonstrations, a farmers market, live music and vendors. 

Admission is free. The fair is set for 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. 

Tyler Coin Club to hold show Friday, Saturday

The Tyler Coin Club will present its annual Coin Show from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Harvey Convention Center, 2000 W. Front St.

The show will have educational displays and vendors who buy and sell coins and give appraisals on coins. Admission is free.


Children's Art Festival, Saturday, Kilgore City Park, with chalk drawing competitions at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

NASA Exhibit, Kilgore Public Library, 301 N. Henderson Blvd., Kilgore. On view through July 5.


Tyler Museum of Art, "Texas Birds: Works by Frank X.
