An Ore City Middle School student and his teacher/ mother will spend the rest of this year in North Carolina, where 12-year-old Montana Jordan will co-star with Josh Brolin in a movie.

"It's called, ‘The Legacy of the White-tailed Deer Hunter," Kelli Smith said from North Carolina earlier this week.

The family had gone to Ashville, North Carolina, in mid-October for a final audition after Montana was selected from dozens trying out in East Texas.

"They first called us back and said they'd chosen a local (actor)," Smith said. "And two days later they called and wanted us to drive on up."

Smith said the feature film's director, Jody Hill, had noticed good chemistry between Brolin and Montana, who play father and son in the film.
