Comedy festival opening tonight

Nationally-known comedians are coming to the Third Annual East Texas Comedy Festival opening tonight.

Performances are set for 8 p.m. today and Saturday in Liberty Hall on the Tyler square.

Jimmy Pardo, a member of Team Coco on "Conan O'Brien Show," will headline tonight He is known for his podcast, "Never Not Funny."

Tyler Elliott, an East Texas comedian, and Daryl Felsberg, whose album "Bad Fatitude" is heard on XM Sirius Radio's comedy channels, also will take the stage.

A new addition to the festival is "The Local Late Night Show" at 11 tonight. Hosted by Brandon Davidson and featuring music by Struck by Hammerz, it will offer comedy in a talk-show format.

The show on Saturday night will feature Tyler-based improv troupe Card 53 and the team of Frank Caeti and Susan Messing. Caeti was a cast member of "MADtv" and often appears on "Key and Peele." Messing is an alumna of the iO Theatre and Second City's Mainstage. "Messing with a Friend" is a popular improv show in Chicago.

The comedy that will be presented is not intended for children or those easily offended.
