Several events are on tap through Sunday to coincide with the Tyler Azalea & Spring Flower Trail.

The trail is a 10-mile driving route that begins at South Broadway and Houston streets and continues through neighborhoods known for their azaleas.

The trail annually attracts thousands of visitors.


Historic Tyler on Tour

This fundraiser for Historic Tyler Inc. is an open house featuring five properties in and around the Azalea District. The event begins with the Candlelight Tour and Garden Party at 7 p.m.  today which includes a bonus home and refreshments

The tour continues 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are sold at the homes.

Goodman Artisans & Flower Market

This annual market at the Goodman-LeGrand House Museum, 624 N. Broadway Ave. is set from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday. Admission is free.

It features vendors selling plants, garden décor items, art and crafts; live entertainment and concessions.


Camp Ford 1860s Living History

The event brings to life the story of Camp Ford, a large Civil War prisoner camp.

Camp Ford Historical Park is located at 6500 U.S. Highway 271.

Historical re-enactors will be on the site 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.


Tyler Azalea 10K & 5K

The annual event on Saturday traditionally attracts hundreds who run through neighborhoods in the Azalea District. Races begin and end at Bergfeld Park.

Race-day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. The children's dash begins at 7:45 a.m. followed quickly by the 10k and 5k. An awards ceremony will follow.


The Spirits of Oakwood Walking Tour

Guided walking tours featuring historians portraying notable citizens buried in the historic Oakwood Cemetery, Palace at Oakwood, will take place 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The cost is $10.


McClendon House Murder Mystery:

The historic Bonner-Whitaker-McClendon House, 806 W. Houston St. is the site of a murder mysteryfundraiser, , "A Murder of Crows," at 7 p.m.

Tickets cost  $20. Reservations must be made through the website


Azalea Trail Junior Golf Classic

The annual 36-hole stroke-play tournament for junior golfers takes place on Saturday and Sunday at Hollytree Country Club, Tee times begin at 8 a.m.


Azalea Trail Arts and Crafts Fair at Bergfeld Park

More than 90 vendors will be set up in Bergfeld Park. Fair hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The free event also features activities for children and entertainment in the park amphitheater.


Carnival of Orchids: Orchid Show

Orchid sales, displays and seminars are part of the show. It takes place 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Rose Garden Center, 420  Rose Park Drive.
