Funeral services for Doris Corn, age 96, of Lindale, Texas are scheduled for 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. Mrs. Corn died Thursday, January 4, 2018 in a Tyler hospital. She was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on July 31, 1921 to the late William Charles and Viola (Goza) Goin and was formerly of Baird and Toyha, Texas. She was also a resident in Marshall, Texas from 1949-1979 before moving to Tyler, Texas in 1980. Mrs. Corn retired in the late 1970's from G. E. Penn, Inc. as secretary/treasurer and for a number of years was a landman and an auditor for the T & P Railroad Credit Union. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church, where she served as finance chair and church treasurer, and was president of the Desk and Derrick Club. She was preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Benjamin Franklin Corn, Sr. in 1999; son, Ben F. Corn, Jr. in 1992 and by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Corn is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Corn of Lindale; sister, Willa Dene Grove of Houston; brother, David Mack Goin of Graham; granddaughter, Heather and Steven Haley of Billings, Montana; great grandchildren, Victoria Haley of Houston, Alana Haley and Ben Haley both of Billings, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Haley, Ben Haley, Terry Goin, Romal Singh, Eric Platten, and Keith Speerly. Honorary pallbearers are David Mack Goin, Donny Davis, Randy Gray, and Robert Patrick. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
