Christ Church South will offer a five-week class about the Book of Common Prayer and how to use it beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday and continuing the same time each Sunday. Tommy Davis, Travis Albea and the Christ Church clergy will lead the class. The class will provide an overview of the major sections of the prayer book, along with practical training in how to incorporate it into one's daily spiritual life.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY

Community Christian Fellowship, 15704 Texas Highway 110 N., Lindale, in the Garden Valley area, invites the women of the community to an eight-week, DVD ladies' Bible study, created by Bill Johnson, called "Strengthen Yourself in the Lord." WOMEN'S EVENT

Best-selling author and Bible teacher Kelly Minter will present Cultivate: A Women's Gathering Around the Word on Jan. 26 and 27. The event will take place at First Baptist Church in Tyler and is being presented by that church, Marvin United Methodist Church and Christ Church, Episcopal. Cultivate seeks to unite women from all walks of life together for a weekend of deep biblical teaching, guided prayer times, acoustic worship and intentional focus on local and international missions. Minter will teach three messages about the life and ministry of Joseph around the theme of "When God Does a Deeper Work." The event will highlight a local ministry, The Mentoring Alliance, and an international ministry, Justice & Mercy International. Cultivate will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 26 and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 27. Early bird tickets cost $30 and are available until Dec. 31. Regular admission costs $35 and starts Jan. 1.
