GO & DO: Mistletoe & Magic brings holiday festivities, merchants to Harvey Center

Mistletoe & Magic, the Junior League of Tyler’s holiday market, continues through Saturday at Harvey Convention Center, 2000 W. Front St.
Nearly 100 vendors with specialty items will be set up in a festive holiday atmosphere.

The shopping hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Besides shopping, Mistletoe & Magic includes special events:
- “Fifth Avenue Flair” style show, 9:30 a.m. to noon, Friday.
- “Christmas in Toyland” children’s style show, 6 p.m. Friday
- “Dreams of Santa” for children, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday

KIWANIS TURKEY SHOOT FUNDRAISER
Tyler-Rose City Kiwanis Club holds its annual Turkey Shoot Fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Camp Tyler Outdoor School on Lake Tyler.

People use their target-shooting skills to try and win a turkey or ham.
The Kiwanis use the money raised to support local student leadership programs, scholarships and other charitable efforts.
REEL EAST TEXAS FILM FESTIVAL
The Reel East Texas Film Festival, a showcase of short films by independent filmmakers, continues through Saturday in Kilgore.
Dozens of films will be shown at two venues: Dodson Auditorium, 817 Nolen St., and Texan Theater, 201 S. Kilgore St.

VALEROSA DESIGNS AND GALLERY
Valerosa Designs and Gallery, 108 E. Eighth St., Tyler, is presenting “Movement in Retrospect,” paintings by Daniela Matchael, through Dec. 19.
The vibrant and and expressive paintings stem from the Brazilian-born artist’s investigation of life and motion.
‘ELF THE MUSICAL JR.’
ArtsView Children’s Theatre, 313 W. Tyler St., Longview, is staging “Elf The Musical Jr.” at 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The play tells the story of a man who thinks he is one of Santa’s elves.
‘THE GLASS MENAGERIE
Kilgore College Theatre will present “The Glass Menagerie” through Sunday in Van Cliburn Auditorium on campus.
The play is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Tyler Museum of Art, 1300 S. Mahon Ave., is showing “This & That: Recent Acquisitions” through Jan. 6, and “Apertures of the Mind: Works by Abhidnya Ghuge” through Dec. 2.
TJC SCIENCE CENTER
Tyler Junior College’s Center for Earth and Space Science Education, 1411 E. Lake St., is presenting “Sportsology,” an exhibit that explores the science of sports.
The center also shows science-related films in its theater.
ARCADIA ART SHOW
The Arcadia Art Show Vol. 3, a juried show in exhibit space at the Martin Walker Law Firm (old Arcadia Theater), 121 N. Spring Ave., is on view through Feb. 12.
