Warmer spring temperatures mean the return of the Tyler Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park series.

Spring marks the 13th year for the outdoor film series in Bergfeld Park at the newly renovated and designed amphitheater and Centene Stage.

The film line-up for the new spring season includes:

— April 14 at 8 p.m. – “Lego Ninjago.” High school students moonlight as ninjas and fight to defend their island of Ninjago. Film rated PG.

— May 5 at 8:15 p.m. – “La La Land.” Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling star as Mia and Sebastian, an actress and a jazz musician pursuing their Hollywood dreams — and finding each other — in a vibrant celebration of hope, dreams and love. The film rated PG-13. *An edited version will to be shown due language in the original version. We do not recommend this movie for small children.

A special concert will take place before the May 5 movie starting at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Green Acres Celebration Orchestra.

— May 12 at 8:15 p.m. – “Emoji Movie.” An outcast emoji goes on a journey across various apps in this comedy set inside a smartphone. Film rated PG.

— May 19 at 8:15 p.m. – “Nut Job 2, Nutty by Nature.” Animal pals attempt to destroy a gaudy amusement park that has replaced their beloved home. Film rated PG.

Free soft drinks will be provided by Tyler Beverages. Special sponsor for the spring movies is Prothro, Wilhelmi & Co.

“Without public and private support of Parks and Recreation programming, the show might not go on,” said Debbie Isham, special events/recreation manager. “The City must pay a licensing fee for the rights to show each movie. That’s why donations and sponsorships are so important. We started Movies in the Park in the fall of 2004 and we have shown 96 movies so far.”
