SPCA of East Texas offering pet microchipping event in Troup on Saturday

The SPCA of East Texas and the Troup High School National Honor Society is sponsoring a low-cost microchipping event on April 14 in Troup.
A microchip helps in the event a pet is lost. Each chip has a unique ID number that will appear when scanned at a vet clinic or animal shelter, showing contact information for help on reuniting a pet with its family.

The cost is $10 per pet, and participants will also receive a coupon for a free Sonic hot dog with each purchase.
The event will be in the parking lot of the First United Methodist Church located at 202 East Duval Street in Troup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Area residents can also take their pets to the Tyler Animal Shelter, 4218 Chandler Highway. In April, microchips are discounted to $5. The offer is open to all East Texans and is not restricted to city of Tyler residents.
