A group of women who trace their ancestry directly to a Patriot who served the U.S. during the Revolutionary War, and who are members of the Mary Tyler Chapter of the National Society for Daughters of the American Revolution, recently honored one of their own members, Barbara Faulkner, at Willow Brook Country Club. Mrs. Faulkner, whose service to the organization spans the past 70 years, was present with her family and surrounded by friends as she received her 70-year certificate from the DAR in recognition of her long service to the chapter.
Mrs. Faulkner joined the society in 1947 as the direct descendant of John Shomo of Pennsylvania. She has been Regent twice; her first years of service in that position was 2001-2003 and again in 2007-2009. She was presented with a dozen red roses by the chapter. Members paid tribute to Mrs. Faulkner in remembering her kind sweet spirit and her love for her chapter.
