Peyton Kelly hit for 18 points while teammates Caden Swaim and Daniel Shankle were both in double figures as the Grace Community Cougars defeated Flower Mound Coram Deo, 71-56, on Friday in a TAPPS 5A District 2 basketball game at Galen Taylor Gymnasium.

The Cougars improve to 18-13 on the season and 6-4 in district. The Lions fall to 11-16 and 2-7.

Kelly was 6 of 6 at free throw line.

Swaim hit for 12 points and Shankle added 10 points.

Others scoring for Grace were Doak Porter (8), Ethan Roach (5), McCade Stinson (4), Wilson Smith (4), Jack Crawford (4), Brinton Loftis (2), Dustin Dossey (2) and Hank Gilmore (2).

Swaim hit two 3-pointers and Shankle added one trey.

Garrett Reid led the Lions with 17 points.

The Cougars are scheduled to host King’s Academy in a non-district game on Tuesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Coram Deo hosts Garland Brighter Horizons at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Brook Hill 48, Dallas Christian 39

MESQUITE — Beck Langemeier scored 15 points and Luke McNeel added 10 points as the Brook Hill Guard defeated the Dallas Christian Chargers 48-39 on Saturday in a TAPPS 4A District 2 basketball game.

Brook Hill improves to 21-8 overall and 8-3 in district the Chargers fall to 11-15 and 5-6.

Others scoring for the Guard were Braxton Durrett (5), Alvaro Moreno Vazquez (4), Osagie Aziegbe (3), Kojo Kwabia (2), Lex Rich (2) and Avery Ko (2).

Hitting 3-pointers were Ko, Langemeier, McNeel and Durrett.

Brook Hill plays host to Dallas Covenant at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bullard 77, Madisonville 49

BULLARD — Tyler Lamberth hit for 23 points and Caden Cummings added 17 points as the Bullard Panthers defeated the Madisonville Mustangs, 77-49, on Friday in a District 18-4A basketball.

The Panthers improve to 19-12 overall and 3-4 in district, while Madisonville falls to 4-21 and 1-6.

Others scoring for Bullard were Layne Alexander (7), Hendrix Smith (7), Quasy Warren (7), Campbell Pawlak (6), Cason Craig (6) and Colby Hanna (4).

Cummings had three 3-pointers with one each from Lamberth, Alexander, Smith and Warren.

Anqwan Morning led the Mustangs with 15 points, while Jakeithon Owens added 12 points.

Bullard visits Rusk on Tuesday, while Madisonville hosts Jacksonville on Tuesday.
