Free COVID-19 testing available this week in Mineola, Quitman, Henderson, Grand Saline and Wills Point

East Texans will be able to receive free testing for the coronavirus in several East Texas cities this week.

Testing sites will be set up in Mineola, Quitman, Henderson, Grand Saline and Wills Point, according to the Northeast Texas Public Health District.

Residents will be screened for fever/chills, cough, fatigue, body aches, muscle of joint pain, shortness of breath, sore throat, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, nasal congestion and loss of taste of smell.

Some of the events will require residents to call or register online ahead of time. All people wishing to be tested myst have a valid phone number to be notified of results by text or phone call.

Testing dates, times and locations are as follows:



Wednesday June 24th

Mineola Civic Center (1150 North Newsome – click here for map) 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This is a Drive-Thru Test, meaning you will remain in your vehicle while having samples taken with a nasal swab

You will only be screened if you are showing at least one symptom of having COVID-19

First responders can be tested but will need to state they are a first responder when you register, regardless of whether you have any symptom of COVID-19

Pre-registration is required! You can register by calling (512) 883 – 2400 or register online at TxCOVIDTest.org

Thursday June 25th

Henderson Civic Center (1500 Lake Forest Parkway – click here for map) 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This is a Walk-In Test, meaning you will need to wear a mask before entry and while inside the facility

Any non-symptomatic person from any county can come to receive a free COVID-19 test and no appointment is necessary.

No registration is necessary. You can arrive anytime between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday June 26th

Henderson Civic Center (1500 Lake Forest Parkway – click here for map) 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This is a Walk-In Test, meaning you will need to wear a mask before entry and while inside the facility

Sunday June 28th

Wills Point Community Room (307 North 4th Street – click here for map) 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This is a Walk-In Test, meaning you will need to wear a mask before entry and while inside the facility
