A missing Smith County woman was found dead Monday in the Lindale area, authorities said.

Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, Smith County’s emergency operations center received a call about a missing person — Hyemin “Katherine” Wee. Deputies went out to 14366 Ridgeway near Garden Valley Golf Course in Lindale, where the Wee’s vehicle had been located.

Authorities said Wee was suicidal. She was found dead around 3:45 p.m. Monday afternoon after authorities spent the day searching. Her body was found in a wooded area near the golf course property.

Foul play is not suspected.

“This is not the outcome we were praying for,” said Smith County Sgt. Larry Christian, offering thoughts and prayers to Wee’s family.

Smith County Criminal Investigators and the Crime Scene Unit were on location for the investigation.
