Whitehouse standouts Briana Brown and Sydnie Davis earned superlative honors on the All-District 16-5A volleyball team, the league’s coaches announced.

Voting was by the district’s coaches.

Brown was the Most Valuable Hitter, while Davis was Blocker of the Year.

Hallsville’s Addison McDermott was voted Most Valuable Player and her coach, Cara Collum, was tabbed Coach of the Year.

Other superlative honors were: Hallsville’s Ashley Jones (Most Valuable Setter), Pine Tree’s Sam Sommerfeld (Best Defensive Player), Hallsville’s Kirah Zulliger (Libero of the Year), Hallsville’s Hannah Perry (Server of the Year) and Lufkin’s Camryn Beam (Newcomer of the Year).

John Tyler Lady Lions on the first team include: Lacorria Rollins, Symone Morris and Erynn Henderson-Ryder.

Earning first team from Whitehouse were Lauren Hannah and Ashlee Taylor.

Other first-teamers were Hallsville’s Gracey Ford, Cassidy Cole and Maile Nelson; Lufkin’s Riley Latham and Kennedy Shelton; Pine Tree’s Lexie Sampson and Jacayla Ingram; and Marshall’s Chloe Buchanan.
