BBB AWARD NOMINATIONS

The Better Business Bureau is accepting nominations for the 2019 Awards for Excellence, which honor businesses and charities who demonstrate superior ethics, reliability and trustworthiness. BBB accredited businesses and charities who are in the 19 counties served by BBB Central East Texas are eligible.

The BBB also will present an Award for Excellence to a business in East Texas owned by a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Nominations are due by Dec. 31. People will select the recipients via online vote. The winners will be recognized March 12 at the CrossWalk Conference Center in Tyler.

OPEN HOUSE AND RIBBON-CUTTING

An open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 11:30 a.m. Monday with the Tyler Chamber of Commerce for Piney Woods End-odontics, 7925 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler. Piney Woods Endodontics is owned and operated by Dr. Bryan C. Allgeier.

DONATION TO FOOD BANK

Smithfield Foods and Brookshire Grocery Co. have partnered to donate more than 30,000 pounds of protein to East Texas Food Bank as part of Smithfield’s Helping Hungry Homes initiative.

The donation provides more than 120,000 servings of protein to help East Texans who face hunger.

PROMOTION

Texas Bank and Trust has promoted Zach Gilbert to assistant vice president, lending, in its Tyler Grande location. Gilbert joined the bank as a credit analyst and previously worked at Plains Capital Bank in Lubbock.

He is a graduate of Texas Tech University and the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute.
