UT Tyler Patriots drop exhibition basketball game to UT Arlington

Former Tyler Junior College point guard Brian Warren hit for 10 points to help UT Arlington to a 90-66 win over UT Tyler on Tuesday in a exhibition basketball game for the Patriots at College Park Center in Arlington.

Jamal Green-Gaskin hit for 10 points, while Verlo Levels added nine points and four rebounds for the Patriots.

Also, Xavier Fogle added eight points for UT Tyler, with teammates Emeka Obukwelu and Darius Alford adding seven points apiece.

Edric Dennis led the Mavericks with 20 points while David Azore added 15.

Former TJC player TiAndre Jackson-Young played 20 minutes but did not score. He had two rebounds.



Former Whitehouse player McKade Marquis is redshirting for the Mavs.

The Patriots play another exhibition game on Saturday, traveling to San Antonio to play Incarnate Word. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

UT Tyler’s regular season begins on Nov. 23-24 when the Patriots travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to play Colorado College on Nov. 23 and Johnson & Wales on Nov. 24.

The Mavericks (1-0) have their homecoming on Saturday against Northern Iowa. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
