The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is grieving the loss of a beloved K-9. 

K-9 Lanny died Tuesday.

She was a 6 year old German Shepherd who worked with her handler Sgt. Hobson and brought smiles to many children during her years of service.  

Lanny became ill and during a visit to the veterinarian a large inoperable tumor was discovered.
