Texas 7-on-7 Championships begin Thursday; Whitehouse opens play on Friday

Whitehouse will be the lone East Texas team competing in Division I at the Texas 7-on-7 Championships this weekend in College Station.

The Wildcats will play in Pool L with Bishop Dunne, Cy Ranch and Midlothian.

Whitehouse qualified for the state tournament by going 4-0 at the Tyler state qualifier June 16 at Lindsey Park with wins over Greenville, Texas High, Huntsville and Lindale.

Whitehouse will take on Midlothian at 2 p.m. Friday. The Wildcats will play Cy Ranch at 4 p.m. Friday and will finish pool play against Bishop Dunne at 6 p.m. Friday.

Division I bracket play will take place on Saturday.



Division II and Division III will begin play on Thursday.

Representing East Texas in Division II are Gilmer, Palestine and Spring Hill.

Gilmer is in Pool A with Decatur, Hitchcock and LaVernia. The Buckeyes will begin play at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Palestine is in Pool B with Burnet, Raymondville and Sunnyvale and will also begin play at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Spring Hill won’t play until 2 p.m. Thursday. The Panthers are in Pool M with Mineral Wells, Waxahachie Life and Wharton.

Representing East Texas in Division III is Tenaha. The Tigers are in Pool H with Lexington, Lovelady and Wellington. Tenaha will begin play at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Bracket play for Division II and Division III will be on Friday.

The tournament will be played at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.
