A national system update will cause a slight delay in truckers and other motorists with commercial driver license obtaining new licenses or renewals this week.
The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators plans to update the system between Thursday and Monday. Commercial license transactions, including originals, duplicates or changes, will be unavailable starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a press release.

According to the release, CDLIS is a nationwide system that enables state driver licensing agencies to complete required procedures related to issuing an original, renewal or modification of a commercial driver license.
The AAMVA said on its website, the new system should be running by Monday.
“Commercial driving tests previously scheduled for (Friday) will be honored, but final completion will be delayed until CDLIS returns to service Monday,” the DPS stated in the press release.
