Three people who are alleged high-volume resellers of K-2 synthetic narcotics in East Texas were arrested today, according to law enforcement officials from Gregg and Upshur counties and the cities of Longview and Kilgore.

Jeremy Tidwell and Shanna Tidwell, co-owners of the Tidwell Corp., which runs the Glass Dragon stores in Gregg County, were arrested, along with one other individual who is related to them, Brian Tidwell, according to U.S. Attorney for East Texas, John Malcolm Bates. The three were charged with conspiring to distribute a controlled substance, namely K-2, through the Glass Dragon stores in Gregg County.

Bates said officials today seized more than $1 million in cash, parcels of real estate, aircraft and vehicles used in the acquisition and transportation of the synthetic narcotic. Bates alleged the Tidwells have accumulated more than $5 million in revenues from sales of K-2. He said federal authorities will attempt to recoup all of the money obtained by the Tidwells through resale of K-2.

Bates said the operation was called Operation Pin the Tail on the Dragon. He said the operation continues, as law enforcement tries to track down the people who are allegedly selling K-2 to the Tidwells.

Bates said that K-2 is often referred to synthetic marijuana, but he said that is a bit of a misnomer, because K-2 is actually much more potent than marijuana.
