SFA event aims to give high school students pre-law experience

Stephen F. Austin State University’s will have a Pre-Law Experience this summer for high school students interested in a legal career.
The weeklong program, which is being offered for the first time, is set for June 8 to 14 in Nacogdoches and is open to high school juniors and seniors, according to an SFA news release.

The event will include discussions about undergraduate preparation; instruction about the judicial system; Law School Admission Test tutorials; visits with law school admissions officials and professors, judges and attorneys; a crime-scene investigation; trips to legal venues such as law offices, courts and jails; a mock trial competition; and an overview of legal careers, according to the news release.
It costs $500 to attend plus $250 for lodging in an SFA residence hall and on-campus meals.
