I too agree on putting it to a vote. Actually when the topic very first came up, I had the understanding that is what was going to happen. I have been in Tyler for nearly 20 yrs. now and I have not seen where we the people, have been overburden with items to vote on. I don't see where you can compare U-turns with the smokeing bans.

I am not a smoker myself, but have many friends who are. They are all considerate of my feelings and take care in not disturbeing my "space" with their habit. I say "LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE"!
