Clayton, I hear ya. If our leader says, "I will lead you North" and he comes to a cliff, I hope he has the ability to flip-flop and changes our direction either East or West. Sometimes you can't view things the same way on Wednesday as you did on Monday regardless of what happens on Tuesday.
I know for a fact that millions of people believed one thing on September 10, 2001 and a totally different thing on September 12, 2001. Maybe it has something to do with what happened on September 11, 2001. Are we all flip-floppers?

Heidi, I owe the families of the victims of 9/11 an apology for saying this?

That's ridiculous to say that to me. I simply was pointing out that sometimes we think one thing one day, and then something happens the next day that leads us to change our way of thinking. It was in no way a disrespectful example. It is a perfect example.
Heidi, it's not wrong to learn from what happened on September 11, 2001. A matter of fact, it would be wrong if we learned nothing from it. It is wrong however, to use the memory of those that died on 9/11 as a debate weapon to use against me personally. I simply asked a question, I wasn't going after you personally. I think you read "September 11, 2001" and ignored the point because you saw the oppurtunity to impune my integrity. That is wrong and sad.
Read my post again, and think about what I said this time. I think you once again missed the idea of the point because you were too busy looking for a dramatic counterpoint. I owe noone an apology for saying that. I am quite sure that the families of the victims of 9/11 want us to learn from what happened on that day.
I guess it's easier than answering the question though. Are we flip floppers because we changed or minds after 9/11? The answer is NO, because what you think on Monday may not be what you think on Wednesday, especially if the facts of Tuesday demand a change of mind. I think, my opinion only, that you are interpreting things that are politically uncomfortable for you as attacks on you personally, and you feel the need to attack back. I wasn't going after you or the victims of 9/11. I was simply trying to learn from the past.
