Post Subject: Re: Put Cal Thomas in the Religion Section Read Article
Mr. Washington, can you please give me a quote from Cal Thomas backing up your assertion that he wants a theocracy. I have never read anything from him advising that is what he wants. Also give me a quote where he wants to violate the Constitution. Thomas is a "strict constructionist", not someone like some of our liberal justices who believe the Constitution is a "living, breathing document." Also, we are not all brothers and sisters. Only those who have named the name of Christ are so. It is fair to say we are all the creation of God but it is up to the individual to accept Christ and come into the family of God. I also do not understand Bill P's reply when he says he agrees with you and pastes a quote from Thomas saying that preachers should stick to preaching the gospel and leave politics to the politicians. That seems to be what both of you are saying. Several years ago Thomas had a very public split with Pat Robertson because he believed that ministers were taking the low road when they lowered themselves to delving into politics instead of sticking with the higher calling of preaching the gospel. He believed that ministers should concentrate on the eternal and not the temporary realm where politicians dwell. There are issues where politics and religion overlap (abortion, gay marriage, etc.), but more on that later.
