McCain has proposed giving every american 2500.00 or 5000.00 for families as a tax credit for health insurance. Further he proposes to send these payments directly from the federal government to the insurance companies.
What he does not tell you is that workers who now receive health insurance from their employers will be taxed on these benefits.
The Employee Benefit Research Institute, a non-profit organization supported by business, unions, foundations, and insurers, say the McCain type plan would likely mean the end of employer sponsered health care.
An average family insurance plan costs 12,106 while the average cost of an individual plan costs 4,479. End result will be an increase in those without health insurance and fewer employers offering this as a benefit.
Looking at this it would appear the difference between a liberal and a conservative is who gets the money. It looks like another corporate welfare scheme to me where the American worker ends up holding the bag.
NOT John McSame
Barack Obama for President Rick Noriega for US Senate
Bill Pelland
PS.... Heidi and Bill You still haven't answer the question as to what you think our tax monies, both local and national, should be spent on?
