Post Subject: Hometown Hero Frank Fields Read Article
The American Legion Family District 3 Heroes to Hometown raised over $40,000.00 to purchase a fully equipped wheelchair accessible van for Army Spec. Frank Fields. At this time we'd like to thank each and everyone in the East Texas Community who supported this worthy cause. We'd also like to thank Frank for donating half of the money he had left back to the District 3 Heroes to Hometown as he said, "To help other soldiers like him." Frank may have lost both of his legs in an IED explosion while serving his country in Iraq, but he has never lost his warm smile and his wonderful kind nature. God bless him and all the other young men and women serving our country yesterday, today and tomorrow. The paper and television had been notified of the event and I wished they had been there on April 26, 2008 at the American Legion Post 12 to see all the people (several hundred) who came out to show their support for our hometown hero Frank Fields.
