25-year-old arrested in November bank drive-thru robbery, shooting

Police have arrested a Jacksonville man in connection with the Nov. 16 aggravated robbery and shooting of a woman at an Austin Bank drive-thru.
Police have arrested a Jacksonville man in connection with the Nov. 16 aggravated robbery and shooting of a woman at an Austin Bank drive-thru.
Detectives and patrol officers with the Jacksonville Police Department arrested Micha-el Deangelo Johnson, 25, on Monday, according to a news release. He was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
Johnson is the second man arrested in connection with the robbery and shooting of Louise Barnett, 66, at the Austin Bank drive-through on West Commerce Street. Another suspect was in custody on Tuesday at the Cherokee County Jail on another robbery charge, according to a news release.
At the time of the shooting, Ms. Barnett was preparing to make a deposit and was shot "without provocation or warning," according to a news release. She was taken to East Texas Medical Center in Jacksonville and then flown to a Tyler hospital.
Police expect to make more arrests soon, and the case is still under investigation.
