Today marks the 76th anniversary of the natural gas explosion that destroyed a New London school and killed at least 293 people, including students, teachers and visitors.

The explosion occurred when a spark ignited natural gas that had been leaking.

The museum is open today through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The facility's tea room is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
