UPDATE: Standoff on Darrell Lane in Tyler ends peacefully
Tyler police and SWAT teams have left the scene at Darrell Lane, in a subdivision near Loop 323 and Old Jacksonville Highway, after a morning standoff with a reportedly suicidal person.
Tyler Assistant Police Chief Diannia Jackson said police received a call this morning that the person inside the home might be suicidal. Police have made contact with the person and negotiated with that person to come out of the home. Negotiations apparently were successful in resolving the situation. The departure of police indicates the danger to public safety has been alleviated.
