Alto Economic Development Corp. recently received a $2,000 grant to help with their local health care services initiative.
The CVS Caremark Community Grant helps communities improve access to health care and health education for at-risk and underserved populations.
“By getting monthly screenings, they can report back to their doctor. Even if people learn of possible risks they can consult their physician about and early detection with wellness education is what we like to see.”
The goal of the CVS Caremark Community Grants Program is to provide relief for adults and children who lack medical insurance and help ensure they receive the proper medical care they need.
“As a pharmacy innovation company, we are committed to helping people on their path to better health and supporting organizations that reduce barriers and increase access to quality health care services to at-risk and underserved populations,” said Hanley Wheeler, senior vice president of CVS/pharmacy West Operations. “We are proud to support the work that Alto Economic Development Corp. does in the community and we look forward to working with them in fulfilling their program’s mission.”
Alto Health For All’s mission statement is “To provide health screenings, early detection, education, referrals, and establish a health care hub for Alto, Texas and southern Cherokee County residents.”
