Officials searching for shooting suspect

Smith County Sheriff’s Office officials are searching for a 29-year-old man accused of shooting an individual on Lake Placid Road Thursday after the two had an altercation.
The accused is identified as Rodrick Cridell Reece, who is 5-foot-8 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. Warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon have been issued for Reece, who also has outstanding drug, alcohol and firearms violations, according to a press release from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.
The individual, whose name was withheld, was injured and is still being treated at a Tyler hospital.
Anyone who knows Reece’s location is asked to call the Smith County Sheriff’s Office at 903-566-6600.
