Staff Reports

A Jacksonville College basketball player was taken to Mother Frances Hospital Friday afternoon after she fell and hit the floor following a foul during the women's Region XIV basketball tournament semifinal between Jacksonville College and Blinn College at The University of Texas at Tyler.

A reporter covering the game said the incident happened about 4:14 p.m. and did not seem to be the result of a dirty foul. The player appeared to fall face first. Eyewitnesses could see she was breathing when taken off the floor.
