Tyler ISD board member Eleno Licea has decided not to seek re-election.
Tyler ISD board member Eleno Licea has decided not to seek re-election.
Licea, who represents District 1, has served on the board since 2009. His position is one of three on the board that are up for election in May. The other two are District 3 and District 6.
“I have enjoyed my time on the board, but I have other commitments that I need to tend to at this time,” Licea said, according to an emailed statement. “I plan to stay involved with TISD and assist it in any way that I can.”
On Monday, board President Michelle Carr announced she would not seek re-election. Mrs. Carr represents District 6 and has served on the board since 2004.
