Shoe charity planned for Saturday at Rose Rudman Park
The general public is invited to donate to Sole Mission, a charity that gives shoes to needy children, at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rose Rudman Park.
Michael Ward, a Robert E. Lee High School drama teacher, is hosting the benefit. Ward wants to raise at least 100 pairs of shoes to the charity in observance of his losing 100 pounds.
He will also have a walk during the event, as he carries 100 pounds. There will be healthy food and snacks available.
