MIDDAY UPDATE: Country Music Awards announced; Will Ferrell works as security guard
COUNTRY MUSIC AWARD NOMINESS ANNOUNCED
Rising star Eric Church is the top nominee at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards. Nomination for the April 7 awards show in Las Vegas were announced this morning. Hunter Hayes is next with six, followed by Taylor Swift and Lindale native Miranda Lambert at five apiece. Swift and Lambert are up for the academy's top honor — entertainer of the year — along with Lambert's husband, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. Swift is going for her third straight win in that category.
WILL FERRELL WORKS SECURITY
He might have been having a day off, but it seems that comedian Will Ferrell just can't resist getting a cheap laugh. Instead of kicking back and relaxing at the Lakers game in Los Angeles last night, he decided to dress up as a Staples Centre security guard. Dressed in a red jacket and tie, and sporting a bushy Anchorman-style moustache, the funnyman singled out former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, making him get up before escorting him out of the building. And a good time was had by all.
HACKERS SEND OUT FAKE ZOMBIE WARNING
A Montana television station's regular programming was interrupted by news of a zombie apocalypse. The Montana Television Network says hackers broke into the Emergency Alert System of two stations Monday. The network says there is no emergency and its engineers are investigating.
