General to speak at Women Voters event
The Tyler/Smith County League of Women Voters will continue its Great Decision discussions, an annual event held each Wednesday at noon at the Tyler Public Library, through March 6.
On Wednesday, retired U.S. Army Major Gen. John Furlow, will discuss and assess the threats and challenges of a weak economy, homegrown terrorism and nuclear proliferation.

Grassroots America — We the People will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 10818 University Blvd. in Tyler.
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. (ret.) Douglas Shryock will speak about international conflicts and troubling developments in Syria.
Lunches will be available for purchase or attendees may bring their own. The public is welcome.
