Intruder hospitalized after violent break in
The Smith County Sheriff's Office continued to investigate a break-in that led to one man being hospitalized Saturday morning.
The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about 1:30 a.m. Saturday regarding an intruder at a residence at Pine Trail Shores in Flint, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
When Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home, they found a resident fighting with the intruder, who was described as a white man in his early 30s, 6-foot-2, with a medium build.
After being restrained, the intruder was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries and was recovering Saturday afternoon, according to the news release.

Disabled individuals 21 and younger may qualify for free help
Special services are available to eligible students from birth to 21 years old who may be experiencing physical or developmental difficulties.
These include: physical disability, deaf or hard of hearing, visual impairment, deaf-blind, intellectual disability, emotional disturbance, learning disability, autism, speech and/or language, health impairment or traumatic brain injury.
Services, at no cost to the family, are available to all eligible individuals regardless of the severity of their disability.

'Love Under the Stars' slated for Valentines Day at TJC theater
Couples can enjoy an evening of “Love Under the Stars” on Feb. 14, at the Center for Earth & Space Science Education at Tyler Junior College.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. with light refreshments followed by domed-theater show at 7:30 p.m.
The show will be about romance and the constellations, with images set to a sweeping, classical music score, according to a written release from TJC.
Admission is $75 per couple (ages 21 and older), and includes: hors d'oeuvres; full-dome planetarium show; an outdoor, telescopic viewing (weather permitting); a gift basket; and a commemorative photo, according to TJC.
