League of Women Voters to meet and announce schedule
The League of Women Voters Tyler/Smith County will discuss the organization’s priorities for the 83rd Legislative Session at 7 p.m. Monday inside the Genecov Room of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, 315 N. Broadway Ave. in Tyler.
Education, health care and water will be discussed by league Assistant Vice President for Advocacy, Research and Education at United Way of Tarrant County Patricia Cheong.
Copies of the first issue of the LWV-Texas Legislative Newsletter, will also be available.
The group also announced its 2013 Great Decisions discussions calendar.
Great Decision discussions are annual events will be held each Wednesday at noon at the Tyler Public Library through March 6.
On Wednesday, Jamal Moharer will discuss Iran-American relations and how suspicion has blighted relations for more than three decades.
