AM UPDATE: Dentist represents self in court; Dallas Cowboy Jay Ratliff; Charlie Brown stalker connection?

Retired Dentist Will Represent Himself in Court
Retired dentist Bobby Nichols said he will take the stand in his own defense this morning.

Also new this morning from that trial, Judge Kerry Russell reprimanded prosecutors in court this morning because they did not immediately notify Nichols’ defense attorney about his weekend arrest.

Russell said he would be notifying the State Bar of Texas to investigate the conduct of Jason Parrish and Richard Vance.

Reward Offered in Case of Murdered Greenville Teenager
There is a reward now being offered in the case of a Greenville teenager whose body was found in Van Zandt county late last year.

Alicia Chanta Moore, 16, was found in a chest-type trunk near a bridge on Farm-to-Market 47 on November 6.

The teenager was last seen getting off a school bus in Greenville.

On Tuesday, the Greenville Police Department and the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office announced a $25,000 reward fund was established for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the homicide case

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Greenville Police Department at 903-457-2900 or Hunt County Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929.

Tyler Home Sales Increase
Tyler area home sales last year spiked over 10 percent from the year before according to figures released by the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors.

Median sales prices were also on the rise, with 2012 finishing at 2.21 percent higher than the year before.

Ed Thompson, Tyler Area Builders Association board member and owner of Ed Thompson Construction, said he's not surprised by the growth in the Tyler market.

“Texas as a whole didn't get hit as hard as other areas of the country, and Tyler fared better than the rest of the state,” he said.

“I'm very encouraged to see the numbers we've seen and the development that's happening again in certain areas. We're starting the year off slowly, but by summer I think the market is going to come roaring back.”

Dallas Area Earthquake
The Dallas area has had another minor earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 3.0 magnitude quake happened at 10:16 p.m. last night.

The quake was centered about five miles north-northwest of Irving.

Officials say no damage or injuries were immediately reported.

A December 12 earthquake about thirteen miles south of Fort Worth had a 2.6 magnitude.

Dallas Cowboy Jay Ratliff Possible DWI
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Jay Ratliff is free on bond after his arrest yesterday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The 31-year-old nose tackle was arrested shortly after midnight after his pickup truck sideswiped a semitrailer truck on Texas 114 in eastern Grapevine, 20 miles northwest of Dallas.

No one was injured, but Ratliff failed a field sobriety test and was taken to city jail.

Ratliff declined a breath test, but police obtained a blood sample for testing.

The case will go to the Tarrant County district attorney's office in Fort Worth.

If convicted, Ratliff could get up to six months in jail.

Charlie Brown a Stalker?
Good grief!

Authorities in California say the voice actor who portrayed Charlie Brown in many "Peanuts" shows was arrested on charges that include stalking.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman said Peter Robbins was arrested Sunday at a Port of Entry.

A background check yielded a warrant against Robbins from the San Diego County sheriff's department.

The 56-year-old is set to be arraigned Wednesday on counts of making a threat to cause death or great bodily injury and of stalking.

Robbins was the voice of Charlie Brown for TV specials, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
