“I feel so honored to have even been considered,” Ms. Coomer said in a news release from the district.
“I am very fortunate to have received an education at Lindale, and I am very proud that I have been allowed to provide that experience for children of Lindale now. I have not only received this blessing, but many over the past 19 years. I am so grateful.”
She was nominated for the award by LISD employee and parent Renee Breaux, the release states. Ms. Coomer won a $250 gift card to purchase classroom supplies and was awarded a certificate.
Little Debbie and Brookshire’s created the giveaway to celebrate a best-in-class teacher, according to the contest website. Twelve nominated teachers received the $250 prize.
