LeTourneau to hold Mission Emphasis events

LeTourneau University will host Mission Emphasis Week the week of Jan. 28 through Feb. 1, featuring a variety of chapel speakers.

Chapel services are at 10:50 a.m. Monday (featuring Jay Moon of Sioux Falls Seminary), Wednesday (featuring David Long of One Mission Society) and Friday (featuring Mwangaza Children’s Choir of Uganda).

One Mission Society partners with more than 180 mission organizations around the globe to train indigenous people to lead churches.

SHADY GROVE
The Shady Grove Baptist Church will have its Male Chorus Musical at 7 p.m. today, and its Male Chorus 35th anniversary program at 3 p.m. Sunday at 12480 Farm-to-Market Road 14 in Tyler. The Rev. Rodney Hood, pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church, is the guest speaker.


FIRST BAPTIST
First Baptist Church Gresham will have its Youth Night at 5 p.m. Sunday at 16844 CR 165 in Tyler. Tyson Thompson, youth director, will preach and Melanie Jones will provide the message in song. A youth fellowship will follow.


GOSPEL WORKSHOP
The annual “Take Me Back” Gospel music workshop performance will be 6 p.m. tonight at Jones Valley Community Church of God in Christ at 7817 CR 485 (N. Texas College Road) in Tyler. Brid’gette Woods, the Rev. Eric Terry, George Faber and the Rev. Roderick Price are special guests.
