Workshop to talk bond and new superintendent
Staff Reports

The new superintendent and a possible upcoming bond election are on the agenda for a Tyler ISD board workshop Monday.

The board is scheduled to discuss in closed session the contract for Gary Mooring, who last month was named the lone finalist for the district’s superintendent position.

Mooring has held an interim post since August, when former Superintendent Dr. Randy Reid left for Keller ISD.

Any vote about the contract will take place during the public portion of the meeting.

In other business, the board is scheduled to discuss a potential bond issue.

Trustees have been eyeing a May bond election and likely will call for one next month.

The public will have an opportunity to comment about a possible bond proposal during the meeting.

The board also is scheduled to hear routine updates from the athletic and food services departments.

The board is scheduled to meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the Dr. Jack L. Davidson Conference Center in the Jim Plyler Instructional Complex, 807 W. Glenwood Blvd.
