Tyler gets a white Christmas
Staff Reports

It is a white Christmas in Tyler.

John Adams, meteorologist with KTYX CBS 19, said it is currently snowing in the Dallas metroplex. The flurries made their way to the city of roses around 4 p.m.

Adams said the snowfall traveled from Canton in Van Zandt County along Interstate 20 to Tyler. He said the precipitation is heavier in northern areas of Tyler and lighter in southern portions.

Models show flurries will fall from four to six hours, ending about 11 p.m., Adams said. Residents can expect less than a half of an inch of precipitation. He said northern areas have a better chance of it sticking than southern portions.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a low of 25 and high of 37, he said.

Adams said it is the first time he can remember snow falling on Christmas day.

Other weird weather in the state includes blizzard conditions around Wichita Falls and the red river and a possible tornado reported in the Crockett area in Houston County. He said no injuries were reported in the tornado but buildings and trees were damaged.
