Two-car collision in Mineola shuts down part of U.S. 69

U.S. 69, north on Mineola is shut down at the intersection of Kings Lane following a three vehicle car accident this afternoon.

Steve Finley, public information officer for the Mineola Fire Department, said the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. He said it appears a vehicle pulled out from a side street and was struck by an oncoming car.
Two helicopters are on scene. Finley said a driver of an S-10 pickup and a child from a Cryer 300 were flown to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. A maroon pickup was also involved in the crash, he said.
Finley said he expects the roadway to be shut down for at least another hour.
The Mineola police department and volunteer fire department are on scene.
